Here it is! My husband and I are VERY proud of this beautiful cake. From the tasting to the designing to the baking to the decorating, this cake was a joy to create. The bride and I designed each tier to have a different look. To tie the cake together, we used pink fondant pearls and silk ribbon. The bride loved the cake! The colors matched the bridesmaid dresses perfectly (they wore green strapless dresses with a pink sash) and looked fabulous next to the pink calla lillies. I did not stress out about the cake until we had to leave it after delivery. I told the director that it was like leaving my baby! When we picked up the cake plate the next day, the bride's mother told us that the cake looked and tasted wonderful! The top tier and the 3rd tier were chocolate with buttercream and ganache filling (YUM!) while the 2nd and the bottom tiers were vanilla with buttercream filling. To hold up under the summer heat, the entire cake was covered and decorated with fondant.

My Little Pony
To celebrate her daughter's 5th birthday, a friend of ours ordered this pink My Little Pony sculpted cake. It was fun to make this cake because as a little girl, I LOVED My Little Pony! I knew the cake was a hit when the birthday girl started jumping up and down but I am sure she was more excited when her parents surprised her with real pony rides at the Ponyville Party! What I would give to go back and time and be a little girl again!

Polka Dot Graduation
I love this cake! I designed the cake for a dear friend's daughter. The graduate requested polka dots and a design that incorporated her past at Wake Forest-Rolesville HS with her future at Virginia Tech. I started with red and blue at the bottom of the first tier to represent WFRHS and used the color wheel (thanks to an idea from a friend!) to progress to maroon and burnt orange at the top. The top tier of maroon and burnt orange dots represents Virgina Tech. I left open spaces to represent the new experiences she will have in the future. The middle tier ties in her past and her future by incorporating the colors from the bottom and top tiers into a sea of polka dots! I am very proud of this cake, but I am more proud of the graduate. I have known her since she was 4 and am blessed to be part of her life!

Hop Along Birthday
The frog on this cake matches the invitation sent out for the daughter of a friend (she happens to be one of my son's girlfriends because he says she makes the best paper airplanes!). At the request of Mason Blue, I made Hannah Montana (maybe Hannah Montana-inspired girl is a better fit...I don't see a huge resemblance!) kissing the frog. I like the yellow and green polka dots on the yellow buttercream, but the lettering is the thing of which I am most proud.
