Kitchen Shower Cake

My favorite client has done it again!  She requested a unique cake and then let me use my imagination to embellish it!  This cake is now in my top 5 favorites and is my husband's #1.

Dogwoods and Daisies

I love the dogwood flowers -- they remind me of the dogwood tree that was in my backyard when I was little. These flowers were made for a wedding cake tasting. The flavors were awesome -- strawberry cake with cream cheese icing, almond cake with coconut filling and buttercream icing, and chocolate with buttercream icing.

Hydrangea Cake

My mother and I hosted a wedding shower for a family friend. This vanilla cake was covered in purple fondant and accented with handmade white roses and hydrangeas. I used the couple's logo as a topper.

A Sweet Surprise

This almond and buttercream cake was covered in fondant flowers to surprise one of my dearest and oldest friends on her birthday. Her mother ordered the cake and gave me the freedom to design something beautiful. It was wonderful to see my friend's face light up when we delivered it -- I love to make cakes, but I especially love to make cakes for people I love.

A Luau Anniversary

I have not had the opportunity to make sugar flowers in quite a while so I was excited about making these! This vanilla cake was covered in buttercream and then accented with gumpaste and fondant decorations. The cake was made to celebrate a young couple's 1st anniversary. What a beautiful reminder of their union!
